Online Learning & Movement Control Order?¿¿
Posted Thursday, 1 October 2020 // 00:41 0 COMMENT(S)

Hello 2020. Assalamualaikum, I hope this finds you (who is reading this) well.

So far, flying cars still has not been seen yet but we do have a virus out there going around in the air, unseen by our naked eyes hahaha. Can't believe a pandemic occurred and my blog is still dry hahaha.

Covid-19 outbreak was really something and is still something! As of now, the cases are increasing and it freaks me out a little. This week, a lot of the malls here in KL/Klang valley have positive covid cases, one is actually in my area. Dang so close but lets just hope for the best okay? Stay home whenever you can & take safety precautions!

I haven't been writing because during the MCO, I had online classes to attend and a pile of assignments and tests to be done. It was so stressful. The amount of work I had was insane I tell you.

Luckily I wasn't stuck in campus during March & April because the day before MCO (17/3), my mom was in Terengganu working and as the prime minister announced the MCO, she told me to pack my things and had me hopped on the bus to Terengganu from Kelantan so she can take me back home hahaha. So I was home from 18/3 until now 30/9 and will be going back on 10/10. Hahaha I kinda have mixed feelings about going back to campus. Dah lah I have to pay an expensive amount for my room later on because I tak dapat bilik at first and had to buat rayuan and "kind" USM gave me DM6 (air conditioned room) which will cost me my kidney. Ugh. Terus takde mood nak balik hahaha because duit tu I nak guna untuk benda lain ish geram betul.

Enough about that, lets talk about online learning!!! How did it affect your mental health? I bet it was really stressful right? I'm sure it was worse for working adults that had reduction in their salary, some even lose their job. I feel so sorry for them especially if they are the breadwinner. I mean, they have a family to feed and bills to pay. May Allah makes it easy for them.

For me, I did enjoyed online learning but not the work load!!! For god sake, I had quizzes every other day, test each week and assignments on most of the days. Barely had room to breathe. Almost gave up. And I had to went through all that from the end on March until the end of July. Wow, can't believe I survived. A miracle. If you saw my list of work to do or test & quizzes, yall would have fainted. The list was never ending. It filled up 3/4 of my desktop page. MasyaAllah.

The part which I enjoyed was not having to get ready and walk to class hahaha. I just get up, take my shower, have some breakfast and sit in front of my laptop. If anyone ever say "Ala, duduk depan laptop je, bukan penat pun nak compare dengan jalan pergi kelas". Well, excuse me sir, have you stared at your laptop, 20 hours per day for 4 months? Sebabnya apa tau, memang online class tu sekejap je like half day but you don't get to move away from your laptop after the class ended because you have tons of things to be submitted. Not even on weekends!!!!! My laptop sampai battery pun rosak geng hahaha and now I even have astigmatism which I don't have before even though I dah rabun from high school.

A lot of people had an enjoyable Ramadhan but mine in the first half was not that great because of me myself. I haven't gotten used to it the first time, so I macam lack of energy gila. I sleep very late, I don't sleep after sahur and some of my classes were early. And then kekok sikit cause I usually eat before or during the class because I woke up early and tends to feel sleepy at 10 AM and above, tapi ni tak boleh makan so struggle sikit kat situ. Then after class I tahan mata and buat kerja or notes if ada quiz. But I always kecundang at 5 PM macam tu because tak tahan sangat. So awal-awal tu I rarely helped my mom prepare for iftar so I kinda feel bad about it. Sometimes nak bangun bila dah nak maghrib tu pun tak larat Ya Allah mengantuk sangat. Bila teruk sangat macam tu, it just doesnt feel right so I sleep betul-betul that one weekend and start off new, tukar schedule so I don't sleep in the evening. But overall, Ramadhan was awesome, I get to have iftar at home with the whole family because usually during Ramadhan time, we students will be at the campus right? Yeah alhamdulillah for that.

Online learning (the lecture part) isn't the best but it's bearable. Personally, I liked it better. But I know some people learn better face to face and can't really keep up with it online. It's fine, different people different ways. I liked it because some of the lectures which was pre recorded, I can listen to it when I'm ready and I can pause it whenever I'm out of focus and repeat the part which I may have overlooked. And because we had quizzes for each topic, I did most of my notes too. Normally bila ada test baru lah terhegeh nak buat kan? hahahah. Because if I'm in USM, i don't have all the time in the world to study. Sometimes I'm tired sometimes I have too much fun hahaha and petang-petang kan main la apa la. At home, I am the farahanis that doesn't know the word exercise. Plus I tak boleh nak pergi jumpa kawan pun, maklum lah MCO. So I have the time lah to do my notes. Cumanya penat tak terkata nak cover semua topic semua subject pulak tu, terkejar-kejar jugak.

One thing that I am grateful for is that my parents were really understanding this time around. They don't budge me or ask me to do this and that. I guess they saw their daughter almost going crazy in front of her laptop. I swear there was one day where I looked like a madman, I have papers all over the floor and my dad came into my room, saw me like that and had to ask me if I was okay. That's how bad it was people. Unfortunately, some of my friends or students that I saw on twitter or any other social media that had parents saying things to them like "asyik duduk depan laptop je, tak tolong pun" ha sakit sikit lah yang tu kan. Haih may Allah gives us patience.

Oh! Internet connection. Alhamdulillah thankfully I have a strong one at home tapi ada je kadang-kadang dia gila sikit. But for those yang tak ada or memang line tak okay at their house, omg I cannot imagine. Yall are warriors!!!! and may be some of the most patient people on Earth hahaha. Dengan nak tunggu document upload or download berejam lagi. Fuh, I would have flip everything knowing that I am not a very patient person (ノಠ益ಠ)ノ彡┻━┻  I cannot stand slow internet connection. I think semua lecturers memahami and you just need to tell them but ada je lah kan yang tak, aduhai nak buat macam mana.

Btw, this online semester marks the end of my second year in Forensic Science USM. I will be in third year soon omg!!! Time flies. Feels like it was just yesterday that I was crying all week during my orientation lol.

Apparently next semester is a "blended learning" where we have both face to face and online class. Not sure on what it depends on. I do have classes and lab to attend but I also have online classes as well. My schedule is packed, nothing new in forensic lol. I swear every other courses has more free time than us. Ours are always full, morning to evening, 3 labs per week at least ever since first year. Gosh. Cheers to surviving!!!

I must say that online learning is not very fair to all, some have it easy, some have it tough, either because of internet or learning in general. But hey let's just hope that things will get better soon, pray that there will be cures and vaccine for covid-19.

As for now, we just have to adapt to the new normal. Please take this matter seriously. It can cost life. Till then, take care of yourself & remember to clean your hands, wear your mask and practice social distancing peeps!

I WENT TO PENANG????
Posted Saturday, 15 February 2020 // 01:36 0 COMMENT(S)
Well hello there, Assalamualaikum. It's good to be here.image

I feel the need to write this post because I would like to remember every details of this trip. Because if I don't, I will only get to remember the larger view of it and not the small small details that actually made me happy. and I regretted some that I didn't get to write about but that's okay.

SOOOOO!!!! I went to Penang!!!!! Okay I know, penang je hahaha but I've always loved Penang. I've been to Penang a few times in my life but to my remembrance it's different every single time. Different places and areas, with different people, at various age and for different main purpose! My memories vary. I guess that's why I'm always excited to go to Penang.

This time around I went for a wedding with my USM clique!!! Am I a grown up yet? Hahaha. It was a friend's family wedding to be exact, and a combined one! How beautiful.

Since Ajat isn't coming back to usm next sem, we decided to spend some time with him in Penang. It was really short but I had the time of my life! And broOOO, I went there by bus. I'm sure my friends are all proud of me cause they like to tease me the manja one cannot naik bus one nanti sakit bontot padahal aku okay je kannnnnn hahaha cubit kang sekor2 image But dang the journey to Penang was so long, the bus was delayed for 30 minutes but we arrived in Sg.Nibong almost 2 hours later than the supposed time ya Allah sabor je lah.

At first I wanna prank Ajat saying that I missed my bus and that Zati had gone first before me because I was late hahaha so when he called I told him I was trying to buy another ticket and that I would arrive a bit late. I already felt that he did not took my bait but I still proceeded with it hahaha (bet he was laughing behind the phone zzZZz) and I was right! hahaha when Zati and i arrived at Sg. Nibong Terminal, he was waiting outside, I hid at the gate and asked Zati to go to him first and he was already laughing saying he knew already. Aduhhh.

Nevertheless, so happy to gather together again. He wanted to drop us off at the hotel but we insisted to come along with him to do his chores. Adik pengantin kan busy hahaha. In a span of only a quarter of the day I have visited almost every supermarket in Penang area including Mydin, Giant and Sunshine hahaha. Too bad we didn't go to Tesco :P By 5PM our penang squad was complete upon Tirah's and Emma's arrival.

Punya lah tamak macam2 kitorang beli, air, maggi, keropok last2 struggle nak makan hahaha. After maghrib, we went out again because adik pengantin still hasn't completed his chores hahaha. He must have been so tired having to go here and there since morning, had to pick us up, drive us around and entertain us lol. For dinner, we went to Char Kuey Teow Parit, Bayan Lepas. Not bad, sedap! But the service was a bit slow due to many customers flooding the place.

When we came back to the hotel, ajat's family was organizing the door gifts and we decided to lend a helping hand. Fast forward to past midnight we went back to our respective rooms took a shower and ironed our baju kurung. It was a long day but when the 4 of us lied on the bed we ended up having our girls' talk for hourssssss and we couldn't sleep up until 4 AM. We woke up the next morning pretty early as we want to join the solemnization ceremony at 9 AM, put on some makeup, being a little bit extra but still looking like we literally just got up hahahaha. Faces don't lie lol. Typical morning faces. The solemnization was beautiful, and the wedding breakfast was great too. We had bihun goreng and some kuih-muih. Afterwards, there was a marhaban going on the stage, and it was actually my first time seeing it too. As we were taking pictures, we got caught by Ajat's maksu hahaha but then she joined us lmao. Around 11 or so we went upstairs to clear up our stuff since we had to check out to check in back into another room and came back down for the wedding ceremony.

The wedding was lovely. It wasn't too crowded. The food was delightful. Lauk dia onzzz. They had ayam masak merah and daging masak hitam (kot tah I hentam je hahaha), ice cream (durian doh!!!), rojak buah, bubur kacang and cakoi. My ultimate favourite was cakoi!!!! Eaten with kuah kacang and it was sOOOOOOOO gebu I tell you. I've never known that people eat cakoi with kuah kacang. Bro, all my life I've only tasted it with kaya. It's a whole new different taste for me. I liked it!

We stayed from morning till the end bruh. I think sampai 4PM. Buat macam wedding sendiri HAHAHAHA. Apooooooo. Even so we had a lot of fun eating and chatting. Ajat busy2 pun sempat layan kitorang. Also thankful to hazim, maksu and amir for entertaining us. Haih so much love for you guys. They had a karaoke session towards the end of the ceremony and wOW everyone had such awesome voices. Amir and maksu nailed it. Amir sang Ziana Zain's madah berhelah and it got stuck in my head until today hahaha. Been listening to it all week lol.

Fast forward to after the wedding, we went to Queensbay to watch a movie, dragging Ajat along of course because he promised to bring us eat nasi kandar hehe. (Public apology to Ajat, we made you extra letih huhu) Too bad his cousins went straight back home after the wedding. If not they could have join us for our nasi kandaq sesh. But but but we canceled the movie because the ticket was soooo expensive la with having to sit at the third line from the front. Big no. Penat2 cari parking hahaha. Cut the story short, we shoot off to Deen Nasi Kandar, Jelutong. SOOOOOOO SEDAP I TELL YOU. The last time I ate nasi kandar in Penang was back in 2018 at Hameediyah Georgetown but I didn't finished it. This one I finished it even when I have eaten so much throughout the day. Bukan Deen Maju Georgetown tau, ni dekat Jelutong. Adik pengantin makan dua pinggan sebab dia lapaq seharian tak makan kot hahahaha kesian dak ni. Balik tu semua pakat tidoq lol.

LAPAQ NASI KANDAQ

Early morning the next day, it was time for us to go home. We got ready and head out at around 7:45 AM. Since it was way too early for the bus which was at 9AM, we decided to go to Astaka Taman Tun Sardon for breakfast. I wanted to try serabai because I've never seen, heard or eaten it but unfortunately the kedai was closed. Instead we had apom. Uwu sedap! Then we quickly shoot to Terminal Bus Sg.Nibong. It was time to say goodbye. I hate being separated :( I had so much fun that weekend.

Post-penang-trip - 1 week after - I still miss last weekend. Wish I could turn back time sobs.image

    Great places to eat!!!

REVEAL & UNVEIL : Forensic Science
Posted // 01:36 0 COMMENT(S)
So hey everyone! As promised, I wanted to share some info on Forensic Science with all of you. This is an article I wrote for my assignment that I wish to publish here in my blog for the public. My intention is just to explain what Forensic Science really is about and to correct some misconceptions that the general public has on Forensic Science. I hope this will benefit any of you people who has or has no intention to further their studies in this course. Consider it as a new knowledgeimage

Disclaimer : I wrote this based on the questions my friends/followers on IG had sent me about things they wanted to know about Forensic Science. All information is based on what I had learned in class and from trusted sources on the Internet (which I have credited in my article).

If you're planning to enroll in this course at USM and have further questions to ask me or if you're just curious, leave me a comment or dm me through instagram. InsyaAllah I will help you.

Introducing Forensic Science to the Public
by : Farahanis

Forensic science and its never-ending relation with death and corpse. Period. Is it because that is the only thing that is shown to the public's eyes through the media? Partly yes. But I guess we cannot fully blame it on the media because, in this era of technology and information, ignorance is a choice. Still, a large part of the community has misconceptions about Forensic Science and it is time to unveil the truth of it.

Figure 1 Forensic Science
Is Forensic Science a scary field to work in? Is it a terrifying course? In simple words, what Forensic Science really is, it is a whole bunch of chemistry with sprinkles of biology and both are to be implemented in the investigation process. To properly define it, Forensic Science is the application of science to law. Hence how it is often related to crime, not just criminal cases but also civil cases. The word Forensic originated from the Latin word forensis which is translated to "forum" and if define directly it means "in open court". Back in the Roman times, Forum was the main center of a Roman city and it served as a public area in which commercial, religious, economic, political, legal, and social activities occurred (Ancient History Encyclopedia). Basically, forensic is an argument used for a legal matter in court by means of science. Associating something with forensic means that it is related to finding evidence to solve a crime linking it to the legal system.

Learning Forensic Science is not just about crimes and criminals or death and corpse. It is far more than that. Its knowledge is to be used to solve the crime, relating it to the search of the suspect or criminal and death of the victim. Its field is way larger than expected. Forensic Science can be related to criminalistics, narcotics, toxicology, serology and document examination.

Through my survey conduction on the public's opinion about Forensic Science, many expected it to be something about an autopsy. One of the most repeated questions asked was "Do the people of Forensic Science deal with the corpse?". Autopsy here, autopsy there, autopsy everywhere. This is mainly the public's general opinion about people who work in this field.

Unfortunately, I have to break it to everyone that this general opinion is wrong. An autopsy is the examination of a body after death to determine the cause of death. An autopsy is indeed related to forensic and may help the investigation process but it is something a forensic pathologist does. A forensic pathologist is actually a medical doctor, meaning that you have to get a degree in Medicine and a master's in pathology for you to be able to do the autopsy. Having said that, getting a degree in Forensic Science does not give you the ability to do the autopsy.

In Forensic Science, we do not directly deal with the corpse but the evidence or samples around and from it. If doing autopsy is a pathologist's job, analysing the sample collected from the autopsy is a forensic toxicologist's job and it is something that someone in the field of forensic science can do. Forensic toxicologists perform scientific tests on bodily fluids and tissue samples to identify any drugs or chemicals present in the body using highly sophisticated instruments, chemical reagents and precise methodologies in the laboratory to determine the presence or absence of specific substances in the sample (ExploreHealthCareers.org). Forensic toxicologists also work on cases involving environmental contamination to determine the impact of chemical spills on nearby populations. To simplify it, they study the adverse effects of chemical substances and as part of the crime investigation team, a forensic toxicologist will isolate and identify any substances in the body that may have contributed to the crime.

Other than obtaining sample evidence from post-mortem examination, samples may also be attained directly from the crime scene and this is the job of a crime scene investigator. Is it like those in the Hollywood Crime Scene Investigation (CSI)?

Figure 3 Barricade Tape

Frankly yes, but not to the extent that they do almost every single thing. In reality, the CSI unit or the investigator usually are the police officers in which their job is to secure the crime scene, collect and package the physical evidence at the place of incident. The CSI team mainly consists of a crime scene leader, a crime scene technician, a forensic photographer, a forensic sketch artist, a ballistics expert, a fingerprint expert and a DNA expert (CrimeSceneInvestigator EDU).

What the CSI does when they first arrived at the crime scene is to take an overview and walkthrough to get an overall feel about the crime, conduct a visual inspection and examination without touching anything to figure out some of the potential evidence and come out with theory. Next, they will document the scene thoroughly using methods of taking photographs and sketches. After that comes the most crucial part which is collecting the evidence in the most meticulous and cautious way possible to not add extra unnecessary marks that can ruin the evidence. The steps include collecting the potential evidence like blood, fingerprints or firearms, tagging it, logging it and packaging it before sending it to the crime lab. Depending on the investigator's expertise, he or she may or may not be the one who analyses the sample in the lab. This is because not all CSIs are forensic scientists. Again, analysing the samples will be the work of a forensic chemist, biologist or toxicologist.

Another popular question is how do the "forensic people" know the estimated time of death when they found a dead body? Now, this is when forensic entomologist comes to the rescue. The study of forensic entomology focuses on insects or any other arthropods that colonize the human tissue in the post-mortem situation. For instance, flies. Blowflies are one of the earliest to get attracted to the human bodies from the moment of death and will lay eggs on natural body openings such as nose and mouth or even wounds. Within 24 hours, these eggs will hatch into maggots. The life cycle of a fly from egg to maggot to fly takes from two to three weeks. If the oldest insects are 7 days old, then the victim has been dead for at least 7 days. After the first adults begin to emerge, it is not possible to determine which generation is present hence after a single blowfly generation has been completed, the time of death is determined using the insect succession method (Dr. Gail S. Anderson). This is the surface of how associating insects with human corpse provides the most accurate estimation of time since death.
Hasil carian imej untuk Figure 4 Blow Fly Life Cycle
Figure 4 Blow Fly Life Cycle

By estimating the age of insects developing on human remains, we can estimate the time since colonization and next determine the elapsed time since death of the dead body.

In conclusion, people in the Forensic Science field mainly are the one to analyse and identify samples and evidence to come out with the causes and estimated time of death and any matter related to the subject.

Life Update : New Year
Posted Friday, 31 January 2020 // 21:28 0 COMMENT(S)
Hi everyone! Assalamualaikum. Hope yall are in the pink of health (uwu macam essay English darjah 6 hahaha) This is my first official 2020 post!!! image

I know I repeat this every single time but I swear it has been sooooooooo long since I logged into my blogger account. Didn't have much time but when I do (during my mid sem break) I'm lazy and a bit busy and I spent it on dramas hahaha. I'm so sorry. Come to think of it, I have quite many things to update.

Highlight of 2019 was definitely my sister graduating from medschool and getting married to the love of her life insyaAllah (Acewahhh). Holy shrizzle I still can't believe my sister got married??? I mean she's my sister???? She's mine??? Okay lol but I'm such a good adik come on I restu je. hahahaha.

The wedding (for our side) was really tiring lmao I'm not even the bride HAHAHA but guys i'm not joking kawin penat guys hahaha. But on the bright side, I get to meet a lot of my friends from high school and primary school and also some people that I haven't met for a long time so it was definitely great.

The next day after the wedding, one of my closest cousin went abroad to further her studies so that was sad. No more complete squad. Another one flew back to hometown in US. And I flew back to Kelantan for a new semester haha. But again, I flew back home only after a week for the second wedding which is for the groom's side at Kuantan.

And for that I had to pull out from my frisbee Kota Bharu HAT. I swear I didn't realise that the date was the same as my sister's wedding lol.

Okay that's all for the wedding part. Let's move on to next one.

This semester, I got a single room! Yup, I sleep alone guys. And so far I have only missed 3 classes where I woke up late. Other than that it was all fine. But I had to sleep early before 1. Latest is 1:30 because if not I will have trouble waking up. I think after mid sem break all I did was sleep late because of the piled assignments but I didn't have much classes so yeah it was okay.

I actually really liked this semester, it is my favourite so far. One thing was because of the schedule. I only had lab sessions for the weeks before mid sem. Afterwards there was only a few lab session left so I'm pretty much free after lunch hour. During my first year, I swear my schedule was super packed compared to other courses. Man it was tiring. But entah sama je balik kelas awal pun tidur hahaha aduh tak function. Maybe because I slept late?

I also enjoyed the subjects for this semester including my ko-k. I went and took archery guys! It was really fun except for having to start early (I had to rush if I have evening classes) I hate rushing zZzz. I enjoyed criminalistics the most because the topics are very interesting. Some of them are fingerprints, questioned documents, footprints and many more. It's like an introduction to Forensic Science. Last 2 semesters I only learned Chemistry. This sem too but only Organic Chemistry II and Analytical Chemistry III. Organic was fun but analytical was a torture oh my god don't get me started. We had to learn spectroscopy which was so hard for me to understand but after talking to my Personal Academic (PA) about it, I felt better because he told me it is normal to feel that way since its only my first encounter with spectroscopy. And I also referred to him on some of the stuff that I didn't understand eventhough he was not the one that teached us spectrocopy. He also explained why we had to learn spectrocopy so yeah I was a bit accepting after that and I complained less about spectroscopy hahaha. Thank you Dr. Dzul. (For crying out loud I think I screwed up my analytical paper but God forbid, the surface of the questions seemed easy until I had to write my answers and my brain just went brainless lol)

I also menyepi sedikit in my acah-acah sukan world. I only went to one frisbee tournament way back in October which is SUXO 1.0 organised by Seladang X. This time I played with Oldboys Ultimate. Gosh I love training with them because they teached me everything considering how lopek I am. Thank you for ajak-ing me. I get to meet some of the oldest pioneer of frisbee in USM which are Abang Yus and Kak Zue and get to know some people a little bit closer like Kak Fisya and Shuk. Alhamdulillah we got ourselves a gold medal in Pool B. Yay!

Extra achievement:  I rushed back earlier than others around 6:15 from Rawang, driving- alone because I have a flight back to Kelantan to catch at 8PM lol. I drove back home to return my parents' car and my friend picked me up. Shout out to Alfiq, uwu thanks buddy. Sumpah I laju dan awal, sempat terlepas simpang dan sempat makan mcd bhai. Applause please hahaha.

Btw, oldboys ultimate is an ultimate team based in Kelantan, a team formed by one of my senior who just graduated from USM for the Frisbee Community in Kelantan. So yeah, everybody is equally welcome. They organise a lot of indoor pick-ups mostly in Kota Bharu area. Check them out on instagram @oldboys.ultimate They are a bunch of friendly and lovely people. If you're a Kelantanese or somehow are in Kelantan don't be scared to come and play with us! If you want to play outdoor, come to Kompleks Sukan 1 USM in the evening around 530 or 545PM. We have Monsoon Ultimate here which is USM Health Campus' team. Most of the days we're here on the field. Do join us!

Other than the tournament I mentioned above, I only played for Interyear for basketball and frisbee which got me 2 silver medals. Yay too! My basketball skills are not good in the first place but they got even rustier pfffffft. It feels awkward because I haven't played them for quite some time and my 2 friends has gotten so much professional. Then there was just smol bean me, noob and awkward.

This sem was also my favourite so far because I've bonded with my classmates better. I talked and engaged more with them in classes and through assignments. I would say that I have gotten closer with a lot or some. I can't believe I'm saying this but I also enjoyed some of the assignments even though the process was heck really stressful and some assignment mates that weren't very helpful. I think I like how they came out after going through so much doing it lol.

1 year and a half of degree life completed! 2 and a half years to go! Lets geddittttttt. But okay some sad news is that the only senior I'm close to is done with his 7th sem and will be completing his last one at PDRM Cheras for practical before graduating. That means he won't be coming back to Kelantan anymore sob sob and we all don't get to see him or play with him in the evening aaaahh. Dia lah yang paling rajin ajar kitorang yang kadang-kadang throwing disc pun ke laut ni. Goodluck to him as he will later step into the real outside world while we still walk to PPSK for lectures and tutorials.

Wrapping up 2019 - Welcoming 2020!image
Bro I can't believe its 2020 already. Wawasan 2020??? When I woke up on 1st January 2020 I went and scroll through instagram stories and a friend posted a video of a flying car. Oh my god, mamai me almost got my eyeballs out, it looked so legit. Myvi pulak tu hahaha aduh. Pro betul yang editnya pun. I wish I could show you hahaha. Okay putting this aside, I actually have a new year resolution!!!!!!!! I usually don't.

I wanna master some new skills, step out of my comfort zone and improve my self esteem.
image

In 2019, I had a really bad self esteem and low confidence but in 2020 I don't want it that way anymore insyaAllah. No more being timid please farahanis. Some skills that I want to acquire is pretty basic like mastering a few softwares and learning a new language (Mandarin if possible) But yo, all this requires a boost of kerajinan in me so #pray4farah

The first 2 weeks of 2020 was depressing hahaha partly because of examinations and unstable hormones. I don't know why I had that many tears, I cried so much that my eyes hurt hahaha but I'm okay now. It was a temporary mood. Hoping for a better month and year ahead with me becoming a better muslim, daughter, sister and student - generally a better person.  Doakan I dapat result yang cemerlang oki :3 Thank you!!! May Allah shower you all with His blessings. Amin!

Until next time.

Okay spare me one more minute please. I had one assignment for Criminalistics where I needed to do a creative writing - an article with information on Forensic Science for the public. The one that I wrote was very general, trying to introduce what Forensic Science really is. I would love to post them for everyone to read so I hope yall read it later and absorb it all lol.

Hiking Thrills
Posted Thursday, 30 January 2020 // 23:24 0 COMMENT(S)

Assalamualaikum, hello again! This post is so long overdue I'm so sorry!

Hope you're not too bored to read another post of mine haha. As promised, I'll be writing about my so called adventure! Hiking je pun uols acah macam adventure teroks hahaha.

It all started when my friends and I gather for our annual Raya Celebration, Amanose asked if I wanted to go on a hike? So I was like nahhh taknak lah if KD10 (which is Denai Tiga Puteri) in front of our high school. Sebab yang tu penat doh hahahaha.

But then I suddenly remembered that Zuhdi is a pro in this field so I thought it would be a better idea if we could ask him to tag along. And we instantly & randomly asked him at that moment "Zuhdi jom hiking" hahaha and then he was like onz roger nak pergi bila. Cool.

So Amanose planned with Zuhdi, and when he asked the level of difficulty of hiking that we wanted, we daringly went for an intermediate one. Fuh. But according to him, he actually brought us to an easier-level-hill lol. Guess where we went to? Drum roll please.

Bukit Botak, Puncak Alam!

I think it's around 30++ minutes from Kota Damansara. We drove off around 730 A.M. And if I'm not mistaken we started our hiking around 9 or less. Okay first of all, it's definitely and easier track compared to Denai Tiga Puteri. BUT! The hill is super steep. Curam! Even at the starting point. Which made my legs lenguh! Weak legs shaking uols. Padahal baru nak mula je hahahahaha sumpah rasa macam nak turun balik boleh tak?

Jk. Of course we continued our hiking hahaha. One of the things that is special at Bukit Botak other than its bald peak (if that even make sense hahaha) is the electricity pylon. Probably the closest one that we can get I guess?

Bukit Botak ni ada 3 puncak overall. Compared to Hutan Simpan Kota Damansara which has a narrower track and is shady, Bukit Botak's trail is wider and more exposed to the sun. So it's pretty hot. Make sure to put on your sunblock, wear your hat and bring your water with you to keep hydrated.

This is the 2nd puncak if I'm not mistaken

And the highlight - I present to you the bald peak!

I know nampak tak menyelerakan je kan macam padang pasiaq hahaha it's okay because before getting to this peak, Bukit Botak do have some green scenery to offer yall.

On our way down we actually encountered with a snake. Not a very big one and the boys shoo-ed it away so we're safe alhamdulillah. So yeah, just be extra careful especially around the bushes.

Percentage ke-function-an hiking was 50% because we cooked and some maggi when we were at the peak hahahaha thanks to Zuhdi for bringing all the necessary equipments and tools and others for the sponsored Maggi lol. And guess what? We ate mcd before going home. Okbye function sangat hahaha.

To sum it up,

Location : Bukit Botak, Puncak Alam
Level of difficulty : Easy but with a few steep hill that is tiring to climb (but theres rope                                    for you to grip to so there's nothing much to worry)
Cons : Puncak panas
